TRAINING LOG: #1

Richmond ParkLeft work around 6pm, felt good today, recovery from tummy bug at 95%. My fist lap of Richmond park was very hard work, traffic was a problem today (note to self-afternoon traffic is restricting on week days). My bike as developed a creaking sound in the frame somewhere and this occurs only when I’m out of the saddle on the hills. It’s disconcerting as I’ve only had the bike a few weeks and this would be it’s third proper outing.
Lap two was a little better although I find it amusing when guys come passed me at twice the speed I’m travelling making me feel like I’m not even trying. I need to learn how and when to push myself  to keep the momentum going. I’m finding that by the time I get to the tip of the first hill I’m almost at a stand still, then instead of getting momentum going as quick as possible to get my rhythm back, I find myself just going as slow as I did after reaching the top and loosing all the time gained in the flat leading up to the hill. Its critical to make the extra burst off the top to get back into the rhythm and speed again.
